August puppies....finally

Luana has been out showing for her championship and has 3
major wins under her belt. She has come into season and will
be bred to GCH Riverwood's Prince of Tides this weekend
with puppies expected the first week of August.  The stud is
solid black and Luana is a brown and white piebald. We expect
black puppies with wavy coats with some white on chest and paws.

Blue Run puppy finishes kindergarten

 

Blue Run puppies are encouraged to go to puppy kindergarten as

 socialization in the first few weeks is key to a well adjusted dog. 

This is Echo who chose this delicious looking sandwich as his

 graduation toy from "Your Dog's Friend" in Rockville.

Sometimes it's Nice to be an Only Child

Hunter is gloating over the box of presents he got
from his father today. His daddy is GCHB BISS
CH Far Away Moonstruck Over Manhatten AX
MJX XF THDN CGC TKI (Sirocco) and mom is
CH Blue Run's Juliette.
Hunter was kindly raised by Art Stern of Amigo
PWDs as Art had a litter born the same day and it
is not healthy for puppies to be raised without
siblings. Now this little singleton is getting ready
to go to his new home. It looks like I'll have to pack
him a suitcase for all his new belongings!

Yuletide Play Date

I encourage litter mates to get together for play dates.
Leo and Fenway are trying out their trampoline skills.

The Last Yuletide goes to his new home today

This has been a delightful litter with beautiful puppies.
Yellow Boy is the last to leave, waiting for his new
owner to recover from bronchitis so she can devote her
energies to him. His new name is going to be Archie.

CH Blue Run's Riverwood Khumbu

Khumbu (Bu) is my newest champion. He finished
with a four point major over stiff competition.
He will be two in April.

This little guy, who already weighs in at 1.5
pounds, looks a lot like his daddy.
I have my eye on him.....
I need two more families for this litter. I place
local to the D.C. area.

The Yuletide Litter has arrived!

All puppies survived the whelp. The puppies are huge.
All except one are boys and all are wavy. Some black,
some brown, one piebald, one Irish, one particolor,
the rest tuxedo marked.
One day old and all are already gaining nicely.

Bu is now 18 months old and is one win short of achieving
his championship.

 This is Lorenzo
in European cut.

























This is Diamond.
Diamond was bred to Lorenzo in October,  a line
breeding on BISS CH Watermark Toby's Blackjack who
appears 4 times in the 5 generation pedigree.
Perhaps we will have brown pups this time. Will you look
at that muzzle on Lorenzo! He has a marvelous head piece
with the nice obliquely set oval eyes correct for the breed.
Both sire and dam have lovely temperaments and are
moderate in size.  Puppies will come the day after
Christmas: The Yuletide Litter. (Placements within an
hour or two of my Maryland or Virginia homes only
as a face to face interview is required, I don't ship. As I
anticipate several show prospects in this litter, families
interested in a show puppy are preferred.
I  make home visits at one year and maintain close
contact with all my owners.)

Bu wins first weekend of shows

 

It's hard to believe how well young Khumbu

 is doing in his first weekend of shows. He won 2 out of 3 days and look at

 this gorgeous self stack in front of the judge!!

Dog Sitting

I encourage my owners to dog sit for one another, So many
vacations in the summer time......so many guests, it's hard to
know which is the "home" dog in this picture. From left to
right Mays (the hostess) with Khumbu, Willa, and Lhotze.
They look like they are having fun at Chez Ruth.
