This is my problem boy, Carson. He is 6 years old and most of the time he is a love muffin. But on three occasions, Carson has bitten teenage children in his family, generally in a resource guarding scenario. His vet, also Carson's advocate in this matter, prescribed medication for him as Porty's generally bite when stressed, rather than with true aggression. He is more chill but the kids are afraid of him and the owners want to rehome.
Carson would do well in a home without children. He needs savvy adults who will give him exercise and structure. Once he is in such an environment, the biting issue will resolve. However, any dog with a bite history needs lifelong supervision and a responsible dedicated adult.
Could you be the one to save Carson? It would kill me to euthanize this boy. Blue Run successfully rehomed a 6 year old biter named Danny. Danny died at age 13 with his second owners, much adored, and with no further bites.
